Council acknowledges significant dates related to community, local, national, and international interest through a custom colour treatment of the roof and building façade of PHIVE 5 Parramatta Square. The lighting schedule for 2026 is available below.

PHIVE Lighting Request

Council will also consider lighting requests from community organisations and groups to acknowledge significant dates. 

Upon receiving a request priority will be given to Council led, or Council endorsed, activities and campaigns and events with a direct connection to the City of Parramatta and its community.

To have your request considered, please provide the following information at least three weeks prior to the requested lighting date.

Applicants will receive a written response stating whether or not their request has been approved within five business days of receipt of their request. PHIVE roof lighting request approvals are not subject to appeals or negotiation.

If a lighting request is approved, the roof will be illuminated from dusk to dawn for the date(s) requested. Council has the right of refusal and the sole right to reverse its decision at anytime.

PHIVE lighting requests are approved per individual request. There is no guarantee of ongoing or future request approvals.
 

Excluded Requests
Lighting requests will not be considered if any of the following are true:

  • Events, causes or matters of a political nature, ideological beliefs, or individual conviction;
  • events or organisations with no direct impact or connection to the City of Parramatta;
  • campaigns or events contrary to City of Parramatta policies;
  • campaigns intended for profit-making purposes;
  • private or personal events or causes;
