Free Home Energy Assessments – Open
Did you know that good insulation can cut your winter heating bills by up to 40%? If your home was insulated before 2010, chances are it either doesn’t have enough insulation or it’s been moved out of place by contractors such as electricians.
Council is once again offering Free Home Energy Assessments by a qualified energy consultant. The assessment will take between 30-40mins and you’ll get a full evaluation report, as well as personalised advice on how to improve the energy efficiency.

Community gardens
Community gardens help build healthier, stronger, more connected communities. They offer our community the opportunity to plant, grow and harvest produce in a shared setting.
When community gardens are led by the community, they provide inclusive, common ground areas with opportunities for residents to be active and connect with each other over shared interests.
Community gardens also help our community to interact with nature, to reduce their household waste, and to learn and practice skills in a safe and supportive environment. They can be located on different types of land including schools, churches, community centres and public parks.

The City of Parramatta supports community gardens and understands that these require substantial community involvement for planning, decision-making, garden management and day-to-day activities. Establishing and maintaining effective community gardens is encouraged as it significantly increases the wellbeing of individuals and the broader community.
