FloodSmart Parramatta is a service for the Upper Parramatta River within the City of Parramatta local government area. It aims to provide communities, individuals and business owners with vital information to understand flood risk in your area. Knowing if you are at risk, how to prepare and what to do in a flood will help keep the community safe.

The City of Parramatta is prone to flash floods and FloodSmart Parramatta has been created to help protect homes and businesses that could be affected in a flood. Flash flooding is flooding that occurs very quickly and can lead to rapid rises in water level. Large floods are rare, but even small floods can cause damage and disruption.
