Draft A’Becketts Creek Flood Study, have your say before 6 February 2026

The Draft A’Becketts Creek Flood Study forecasts flood behaviour for the Granville, Harris Park, and Rosehill area. New flood modelling shows around 1,500 homes are flood-affected. FloodSmart Parramatta is a joint Council and NSW Government program which brings the community and government agencies together to understand, and plan for, flood risks in the City of Parramatta.

FloodSmart Parramatta is provided by the City of Parramatta in partnership with NSW Government’s State Emergency Service, Office of Environment and Heritage and Sydney Water, and the Australian Government’s Bureau of Meteorology.

The service uses technology developed by consultants Royal HaskoningDHV and Nelen & Schuurmans.

Flood Warning Service

FloodSmart Parramatta offers a free flood warning service for the Upper Parramatta River, designed to provide you with messages for your local area before it floods. It works by using a series of water level and rainfall gauges(PDF, 195KB)  to help predict future flooding.
