Sydney Writers' Festival: AC Grayling: Discriminations

British philosopher A.C. Grayling for Sydney Writers' Festival

Join esteemed British philosopher A.C. Grayling for a talk on his new book exploring the history and present of cancel culture, Discriminations: Making Peace in the Culture Wars.

A symptom of the modern age, or a tale as old as time?

There are few philosophical stones esteemed British philosopher A.C. Grayling has left unturned. His books span the big questions: The God Argument, Democracy and Its Crisis, Philosophy and Life: Exploring the Great Questions of How to Live, and more.

In his latest book, Discriminations: Making Peace in the Culture War, A.C Grayling explores the history of cancel culture, from Ancient Greek ostracism to modern social media frenzy. Charting key moments across the globe - Socrates' hemlock cup, witch trials, and McCarthyism to name a few - A.C. Grayling aims to find a middle ground in what is so often an incendiary debate.

Join Festival favourite A.C. Grayling for this special Parramatta event to discover how we might find a way forward towards peace in the culture wars.
