Youth Masterclass: Puppeteering & Performance with Erth

Join us for an extraordinary 3-day workshop where creativity and performance meet! Drop off your kids at PHIVE, and watch them dive into the magical world of puppetry and street theatre, guided by the renowned experts at Erth. Over the course of three dynamic days, kids will learn the essentials of puppeteering, from mastering small hand-held animal puppets to interacting with Erth’s famous life-size dinosaurs.

Date: Monday 13th, Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th January - this is a progressive workshop and you must attend all 3 days

This hands-on masterclass for 8 - 12 year olds, led by professionals who have toured internationally, promises a once-in-a-lifetime experience for young participants. Not only will kids learn the art of bringing characters to life, but they’ll also discover the skills needed to create roving street theatre performances. By the end of the program, they’ll be ready to put on a captivating show!

The program culminates in a supervised roving performance through PHIVE and Parramatta Square, allowing parents and family members to witness their child’s creativity in action. The experience wraps up with a graduation ceremony, where each child will receive a certificate to commemorate their achievement.

What to Expect:
•    Engaging 3 x 6-hour workshops with breaks and a balance of learning and fun

•    Hands-on learning with puppets of all shapes and sizes, from small animal puppets to life-like dinosaurs

• This is a progressive workshop and participants must attend all 3 days. 
• Parents and carers may sign their children in from 9am and must pick them up and sign out by 3:45pm.
