About Celine Cheung (she/they)

Celine Cheung is an artist and community facilitator based on unceded Dharug land. Her practice encompasses drawing, installation, performance, photomedia and jewellery. While embracing fluidity and experimentation, she approaches art as a confessional and open- ended storytelling medium.

Citing love and death as catalysts for her work, Celine explores emotions and interpersonal relationships, including familial attachments, intimacy and the parasocial. Through intricate mark-marking, abstraction and collage, she meditates on place, loss and belonging. Recently, she is interested in how dreams and aspirations stand in conflict with a haunted past in the context of migration in Western Sydney.
