Having your pet go missing can be quite stressful for pets and their owners. Keeping up to date details on your pets’ microchip as well as a collar and tag greatly increases the chance of being reunited again!

Free pet tags

That’s why, as well as free microchipping, City of Parramatta Council are now providing pet owners with a free ID tag.

Not only does having a collar and tag save you a lot of worry and grief, it can save you paying impounding fees and fines as it is a mandatory requirement for your dog to have a collar and tag when in a public place.

Cats

Cats are required to be identified by either way of microchip or by a collar and tag around the cat’s neck - we recommend doing both.

Since cats can roam, by wearing a collar and tag, you reduce the chances of your cat being mistaken as a stray that may be trapped and impounded. If your cat slips its collar, then it can still be reunited to you because of its microchip.

Update information
