The environment is at the heart of Parramatta’s identity and wellbeing, and central to our action in the face of climate change and the growth of our community.
Environmental sustainability is a critical concern for our community, and the time to act is now. In previous strategies, Council’s prioritised giving back as much as was taken but this time our focus has shifted to a regenerative lens, working to actively restore and enhance nature. Council’s role is to empower the community and ensure our City can respond to the impacts of climate change, natural disasters, and environmental degradation while effectively managing our natural resources.
Our new draft Environmental Sustainability Strategy guides our priorities and actions over the next 10 years and replaces the previous 2017-2021 Strategy.
