As a home to a growing centre, the eastern side of Epping needs a well-thought-out plan to guide the improvement of the streetscape. Council is preparing a public domain concept plan to strategically guide the improvements along Cambridge Street, Oxford Street, Pembroke Street, and Langston Place.
This concept plan will ensure improvements are thoughtful, considered and work well with each other. It will also provide Council with better opportunities to seek grant funding so improvements can be delivered to Epping sooner.
This site is being improved as part of the Better Neighbourhood Program (BNP). The program is a long-running and successful Council program that focuses on the capital upgrades of local centres outside of the Parramatta CBD. The BNP commenced in 1999 and delivers improvements to centres with the goal of enhancing safety, vitality and economic prosperity.
Areas are prioritised for upgrade based on a number of factors, including the condition of the centre, its vibrancy, and its connectivity. The community voice also plays an important role and over 1,300 local residents completed feedback surveys to help prioritise projects in 2021/22 and 2022/23.
Stage one consultation on the Epping Town Centre East is currently open for comment. Your feedback will help inform the concept plan.
