Excitement builds in Epping as big vision and major overhaul begins

Work is set to get underway on a long-term vision for Epping Town Centre with more vibrant laneways, more accessible and safer pedestrian connections and better access to public open space.

The scope is the first step in developing a master plan for Epping Town Centre which includes an analysis of the precinct, a draft master plan and community consultation.

City of Parramatta chief executive Gail Connolly PSM said the community was key to bringing the vision to life over the coming years.

“A master plan will help us identify what our community needs now and what we need to support residents long-term,” Ms Connolly said.

“Epping Town Centre is a busy hub and has also gone through significant change since the introduction of new planning controls set by the NSW Government.

“There is already a key transport link for trains, buses and the metro at Epping Station and community facilities such as our library, community centre and local retail shops and restaurants in walking distance.

“Our vision is to bring it all together and work with our community on understanding their aspirations for the long-term future of Epping Town Centre.”

Preparations for the Epping Town Centre Master Plan include:

  • Improving laneways and access between Beecroft Road and Rawson Street to public open spaces including Boronia Park
  • Improving traffic and accessibility from the public domain
  • Exploring how the Rawson Street car park site sits within the vision to guide the provision of, community facilities, recreational uses and public car parking and provide a clear link between Rawson Street and Boronia Park

The community will have the opportunity to share ideas and feedback during key stages of the master plan.

A final master plan for Epping Town Centre is expected to be delivered in mid-2025.
