A – Z Things @ Parramatta comprises a selection of 26 artefacts from our Cultural Collections showcased in a short video series of presentations by the Cultural Collections Officer. Each episode, a mystery object is revealed along with its unique story about its significance and relationship to Parramatta. The artefacts are selected from their name using the letters from A to Z.

Parramatta Park lies in the middle of Parramatta's busy central business district. It covers an area of 85 hectares, including significant cultural and natural heritage areas, and around 10 hectares of remnant Cumberland Plain vegetation. The Park receives over 2 million visits each year and is one of the 11 historic places that together form the Australian Convict Sites World Heritage property. The Park was gazetted as a ‘People’s Park’ in 1858.

Council offers the biggest free school holiday program in NSW, with more than 2000 children across the Local Government Area participating in the Active Parramatta program. The classes will get kids up and moving, whether it’s learning hip hop dance routines, basketball skills, craft bingo or taking part in a family Olympics.
