1. BACKGROUND

Community Care is a department of the City of Parramatta Council that provides a number of different services for older people and people living with a disability. The Community Assist Lawn Mowing Service provides lawn mowing and basic gardening for all the Parramatta Local Government Area. Parramatta Local Government Area has five (5) Wards.  Parramatta, Rosehill, Dundas, North Rocks, and Epping.  The area spans from Toongabbie to Wentworth Point. Our customers are of frail age or live with a disability that prevents them from maintaining their own lawns and gardens. We require lawn mowing, edge trimming services and minor gardening.

2. SCOPE OF WORKS

The City of Parramatta Council is seeking interested Lawn Mowing Contractors that will enable City of Parramatta Council to form a panel of contractors and initially enter a contract for one (1) year with skilled and competent suppliers capable of providing affordable and timely lawn maintenance services. This is a customer driven service tailored for flexibility and responsiveness. It is partially subsidised via the Commonwealth Home Support Program. The program offers 10 x $30 subsidies per financial year, per approved customer, to offset the full price of a lawn mowing/gardening service. Our customers select from a small pre-approved panel of contractors and make their own appointments with said contractor, as they require a service.

Our customers do pay the difference in price at time of mowing between the quoted price and the subsidy.  The subsidy is then paid upon invoice to the Council, attached with a signed run sheet.

Our contractors are an extension of the council, so we expect fully qualified, insured, friendly, reliable, consistent professionals to represent us, who are trustworthy, patient, and honest at all times.
