ABOUT THE COUNCIL:

The City of Parramatta Council is located 24 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD and provides a range of goods and services within a local government area (LGA) encompassing some 84 square kilometres and comprises a population of approximately 260,300 people from a range of diverse cultures, lifestyles and experiences

ABOUT THE TENDER:

Council intends to construct pedestrian and cyclist paths through Queens Wharf Reserve (QWR) and Noller Parade linking the eastern end of George Street and Alfred Street in Parramatta. These paths will be connected to existing active transport network along the banks of Parramatta River; and will result in a higher quality, safer, pedestrian and cyclist experience along the southern river foreshore, providing improved access to all users. The works include:

- Separated 2m wide pedestrian and 3m wide cycling paths through Queens Wharf Reserve;
- Eastbound contraflow (reverse) bike lane on Noller Parade with a pedestrian and cyclist priority crossing at River Road West;
- New lighting for increased safety;
- Increased pedestrian amenity through the provision of seats, bins and bike racks;
- New tree planting and landscaped areas; and
- Associated work.

Tenders are invited from contractors who have extensive experience in civil and landscape construction for above work for consideration by Council.

Tenderers must have ISO Certified Systems for Work Health and Safety, Quality Assurance and Management and Environment Protection and Management (as essential criteria) to be considered for this tender.

A final decision will be made regarding this Tender in late December 2024, with works anticipated to commence in February 2025. The Tender price and contract award will be based on a fixed lump sum.

The entire site including George Street (East), Queens Wharf Reserve, Parramatta River foreshore, Noller Parade, Alfred Street and surrounding areas adjacent to the site is accessible to the public; and no pre-Tender site meeting is proposed.

However, it is strongly recommended that Tenderers (together with their subcontractors, suppliers and agents) carry out a thorough site inspection and if questions arise submit these via the Tenderlink forum or to tenders@cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au
