Barry Wilde Bridge display

Barry Wilde OAM was a Mayor of City of Parramatta. He served on Council from 1959 to 1977, and in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 1976 to 1988.

The bridge which spans the Parramatta River upstream from Parramatta Quay, runs north from Smith Street to Wilde Street and was built in 1975.

The coloured light and water display, designed by lighting designer Martin Kinnane was installed in 2012.  Starting at 7.30am, 21 fanjets deliver a cascade of water over the side of the bridge, circulating around 5,000 litres of water a minute.

From sunset until 10.30pm, colourful light displays rotate through four different themes with a new 10-minute show starting every 30 minutes.
