Covid-safe Crafternoon: Mask Decorating

Covid-safe Crafternoon: Mask Decorating

Parramatta Artists Studios Granville will host a Covid-safe space for people with disability and those who are high-risk to Covid exposure to come together and decorate N95 masks with artists M Sunflower, Ambly Ornis, and collective Covid Solidarity 'sydney'.

Participants will adorn masks together using jewellery-making skills, fabric, charms and playful materials. There will also be a badgemaking station to create-your-own slogan pin to express solidarity.

This event marks International Day of People With Disability and makes space for those who are affected daily by Covid, an often under-represented aspect of living with disability. The artists will lead an afternoon of making with reflections about colonialism and capitalism and its impacts on marginalised people in the face of an ongoing pandemic.

People are welcome to join online if they are unable to attend in person. Please email cfinneran@cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au for a link to the event.
