Telopea Family Fun Day and Movie Night at Sturt Park

Sturt and Acacia Parks have undergone an extensive $5 million upgrade funded by the NSW Government under the Precinct Support Scheme. This Family Fun Day & Movie Night will feature free skate and art workshops, plus more, through the day and much more, followed by a movie at night. City of Parramatta is excited to celebrate this fantastic space with the community!

Family Fun Day: 12:00pm Onwards

12.00 – 12.30pm Welcome to Country and Opening Speeches

12.30 – 4.30pm Mini Griptape Art Workshops

12.30 – 4.30pm Chalk Graffiti Art Workshops

12.30 – 5.00pm City of Parramatta Stalls, Community Stalls, Yard Games

12.30pm – 6.00pm Bubble Man and Hula Hoop Activation

12.30pm – 6.30pm Live Music on Stage

1.00pm – 2.00pm Basketball clinic 8 yrs – 16 yrs with Promote The Goat. Email familyfunday@cityofparramatta.nsw.gov.au to pre-register.

2.00pm – 3.00pm Promote The Goat basketball activation with giveaways and shootout comps.

6.30pm – 7.00pm Muggera First Nations Performance

Film: Minions: Rise of Gru (2022 – PG Rated) A fanboy of a supervillain supergroup known as the Vicious 6, Gru hatches a plan to become evil enough to join them, with the backup of his followers, the Minions.

Getting Here:

Sturt Park is located off Sturt Street, next to Telopea Primary School, in Telopea. There is no parking onsite and limited parking around the park, therefore it is recommended guests take public transport, ride share or walk, if possible.

There are two dedicated parking spaces reserved for those with Accessible Parking Permits (APP).

A dedicated event Kiss & Ride Zone will operate on Sturt Street directly outside of the park from 12 pm – 9pm. Please use this area to drop off/ pick up guests in a timely manner. Drivers are not allowed to leave their cars when parked in this space.

By Train or Bus: Eastwood Train Station is a short 10 minute drive or 20 minute bus ride from Sturt Park. Buses from Epping, Ryde, Parramatta and Sydney CBD stop at the Eastwood station Bus Interchange. The 545 is the most frequent bus route from Eastwood Station to Sturt Park, departing every 30 minutes.

By Car: If driving, access Sturt Street by turning north off Kissing Point Road. There is limited street parking around the site.

As this is an outdoor event, we recommend packing mosquito spray as a precaution.
