Be active and stay connected

The Parramatta Aquatic Centre (The PAC) is proud to support local seniors to be more active and connected within their local community. See below for a range of offerings available to seniors living in the Parramatta LGA.

Seniors fitness classes

Be a part of the PAC Seniors, where we believe that age is just a number and fitness knows no limits! It's about staying physically active, mentally engaged, and socially connected. Through regular exercise, lifelong learning, and meaningful social interactions, PAC Seniors programs enable our community to stay healthy, independent, and empowered.

As we age, physical activity becomes increasingly vital, helping to maintain strength, flexibility, and balance while reducing the risk of chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and osteoporosis. Moreover, exercise is a fantastic way to stay socially connected, fostering friendships and a sense of community.

Our programs offer a variety of fitness options tailored to your needs and preferences. All classes below are included in PAC memberships or available to try for a casual entry fee.

Gentle Exercise

Perfect for beginners and most abilities, enjoy low intensity and low impact exercises to keep your heart and lungs healthy.  Each session will be a mix of light aerobics, balance, co-ordination, joint strength, and mobility exercises to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle. Modifications to exercises will be provided to cater for most fitness levels.

Gentle exercise is the perfect place to start or restart on your path to better health through physical activity in a supportive community on the same path.

Strength, Stretch and Balance

Designed for all levels of ability, enjoy low impact exercises to keep your muscles strong and joints flexible. Each session will begin with a mix of weights, balance, and co-ordination exercises, ending with a gentle stretch to keep you mobile. Modifications to exercises will be provided to cater for beginners and most fitness levels.

As the name suggests Strength, Stretch and Balance classes is an ideal class that can be pared with Gentle Exercise or Aqua classes through the week to improve your muscles ability to be stronger, mobile and functional.

Aqua Aerobics

Using the resistance of the water, these classes are run in either shallow or deep water (depending on the class booked- Aqua Shallow or Aqua Deep).

Facilitated by a qualified instructor, participants are guided through a series of low impact exercises that can be self adjusted to cater for your ability level. These sessions are great for improving cardiovascular health, building strength, and increasing flexibility. Classes are paired with upbeat music to help keep you motivated and having a great time.

Aqua Fitness is a great place to start if you like exercising in water, are looking for low joint impact exercise or as a complement to Gentle Exercise and Stretch Strength and Balance classes.
