About

Weave Parramatta is a fibre and textile skill-sharing workshop series that hosts five workshops a year, led by guest artists and community leaders. Created and co-curated by independent producer Kiri Morcombe, Weave brings together traditional and contemporary approaches to fibre practices, celebrating cultural exchange, experimentation, and connection.

Since its beginnings in 2009, Weave has provided space for collective making, cultural storytelling, and skills-sharing in a supportive environment. Participants connect with contemporary fibre artists, honour cultural traditions, and build community through shared creative practice. The workshops are designed for anyone interested in fibre-based making - from first-time participants to experienced artists - and the community encourages both returning and new attendees to join in.

From 2021 to 2023, Parramatta Artists Studios established a Weave Curatorium to support the program’s development and provide guidance on the selection of workshop facilitators.

Weave workshops are held in the Programs Space at PAS Granville.
