PHIVE's 1st Birthday

We’re putting on a party to celebrate our first birthday – and you’re invited! It’s our way of saying thank you for making PHIVE your space.  Since opening, we’ve welcomed more than 400,000 people to PHIVE, to meet, to learn, explore the library or attend an event. And, we have more in store, check out our Birthday Party events (most of them are free!) and plan your day!  

Join us for a day of free birthday celebrations featuring our Outdoor Kids Carnival, circus skills, artist and tech workshops, performances, kids craft, cupcake decorating, music, tours and more. On at PHIVE, 5 Parramatta Square. It’s a spectacular birthday extravaganza not to miss!

What’s happening at our Party

There are more than five great things to do at PHIVE to celebrate our first birthday party – here are some highlights:   

• Beetle - Straight from sell out performances at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Join the adventures of Sally and her new friend the Christmas Beetle. Encounter larger than life beetles, stick insects and other critters in this charming, acrobatic-style Australian theatre performance. 
• Ideas at the Library - Imagine, discover, engage, aspire succeed in immersive experiences for all ages. Enjoy VR, 3D printing, musical performance, sewing and story time in the heart of the Library at PHIVE. 
• Artist Studio Workshops - Unleash your creative side at our workshops led by artists Tarni Eastwood, and Nicole Barakat. Learn fun, hands-on skills and take home your handy work.  
• Tours: PHIVE & Parramatta Square - Take a guided tour and explore the city’s most iconic structures and inspiring art installations . Dive deeper into the spaces that welcome community members and visitors alike.
• Explore Culture, Collections and Archives - Learn about the Dharug Keeping Place and take a peek into our Research Lab and Transit Room – home to our archives and favourite collection items.
