Building your community

City of Parramatta works with residents, community organisations and across council to build strong and resilient communities.

We believe strong communities are made up of people who work together and support each other, and are:

  • trusting
  • connected
  • engaged
  • empowered
  • creative users of resources
  • respectful of differences
  • innovative.

Homelessness

Access to secure and affordable housing is a basic requirement for all people and an essential component of an inclusive, dynamic and sustainable city. To reduce the impact of homelessness for individuals and the community, City of Parramatta has a number of actions and strong partnerships with local homelessness service providers to address the issue locally.

Together with local and regional services, agencies and individual representatives, Parramatta Region Homelessness Interagency (PRHI) runs bi-monthly meetings and working groups to address homelessness and the needs of people experiencing homelessness in Parramatta.
